Default Checkbutton, Button size

I'm working on a data editting program and one of my past problems is coming up to pester me again.

I have several entry fields stacked vertically, and I want to add a checkbutton in front of each of them, and a button after each of them. The problem is that as soon as I add either widget, the overall spacing nearly doubles in size as the check button and button are about double the height of the entry field.

How can I keep the vertical size of these buttons to no larger than the height of the entry fields?
