Default K

I wrote a text editor in awk, and sent it to Brian Kernighan, who is
the k in awk, Aho, Weinberger and Kernighan. He replied today saying
he might write an ed ( the classic unix text editor) in awk, and he
said "Thanks for the inspiration, if that's the right word." He's
quite welcome, whatever the right word is. I'm doing some de-bugging
before I send him the latest version.

That is absolutely fantastic news that the world might now get an "ed" written
in awk. Now I feel inspired to create a bicycle made of wood.

If you do, you might want to take a shot at the wooden bicycle land
speed record while you're at it.

Sadly no, I was just trying to think of something else that'd be useless.
Turns out it's harder than I expected to come up with something totally
useless that no-one has actually wasted their time constructing.

Indeed and we don't need another one :-).

If he has done it for fun or for learning purposes I don't think it is useless at all.

If you think he is actually just trolling, remember that trolls exist because people feed them.

Cheers.
